Privacy, plainly

We're an air conditioning firm, not a data company. This page says what we collect, why, and how long we keep it, in ordinary words.

What we collect, and why

When you book a survey we ask for your name, phone number, postcode, and optionally your email address and anything you tell us in the notes. If you built a quote in our calculator first, that quote comes along with the booking. We use all of this for exactly one purpose: arranging and carrying out your free survey, including the confirmation and reminder messages we send you by text and email.

What we never do

We don't sell your details, share them for marketing, or add you to mailing lists you didn't ask for. The only texts and emails you'll get from us are about your own booking. Our booking pages don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels; we count how many people start and finish the booking form, but those counts contain nothing about who you are.

Cookies, and the three choices we give you

The first time you visit we ask what you're comfortable with, and nothing is stored until you answer. If you close the question without picking, nothing is stored at all. Here is what each of the three buttons actually does.

Yes, that is fine. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful and where they give up, and if we ever start advertising, to see which advert brought you here. Google sets its own cookies to do this.

Analytics only. The same measurement of how the site is used, with the advertising side switched off. This is the option we'd pick ourselves, and it gives us everything we actually need to improve the site.

No, thank you. Nothing is stored except the note of your answer itself, so that we don't keep asking you. Analytics is never loaded, so your visit is never counted.

You can change your mind at any time. There is a "Cookie choices" link at the bottom of every page which brings the question back. We ask again after a year in any case. None of this identifies you personally, and none of it is ever sold or shared for marketing.

Our host, Netlify, also counts page requests on its own servers. That happens without any cookie and without anything being stored on your device, so it isn't part of the choice above.

Where it lives

Your booking sits in our booking system, hosted in a database in London. Sending you texts and emails involves two delivery services, Twilio and Resend, which process your phone number or email address for us in the way a postman processes an address.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for up to two years, so we can honour guarantees and answer questions about past work, then we delete them. If you'd like your details removed sooner, ask and we'll delete them, no questions and no fuss, unless we're in the middle of doing a job for you.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Ring 07462 173999 or email info@southwalesaircon.com and a human will sort it. If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your details you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk, though we'd like the chance to put it right first.
